2008 Spring/Summer Tour - Day 92

I did the first of three shows here at the KOA this morning. We weren't expecting a big crowd... there are actually quite a few kids staying here, but in Branson, everyone typically has already made plans for things ahead of time or has tickets for a show or something. And sure enough, there were only a few kids and families from the park that came. But Mara and Ryan Hughes each came with their kids so it ended up being a decent sized crowd and a really fun show. Ryan had told me the other day what big fans of mine his kids are, but I was amazed to find out that not only do they know the songs inside and out, they also know the liner notes. When I introduced Roseann during the show, one of his sons said, "Hey, she does the voice at the end of "I Am a Robot"!

After the show, Roseann went out to the store while the girls and I worked on our computers, then I took the girls swimming, which was fun. After naps and dinner, we went to the Hughes Brothers Theatre and I opened up for their show again. It was kind of a rough crowd this time... it's been pouring rain much of the evening here so perhaps the mood wasn't as high, or maybe this group wasn't as willing to play along with the "kids' songs for seniors" premise... There were also some technical troubles that didn't help... it was an "anything that could go wrong, did go wrong" show. I also did a scary skid down the stairs at the front of the stage that could have been painful (but considering it wasn't, it ended up being amusing). The crowd seemed to come around for the last few songs, but all told, it definitely wasn't as good of a show as yesterday's. But I guess that, considering it was a 20 minute opening act set of children's songs performed for a group comprised mostly of senior citizens, I can't really complain, you know?

While we were watching some of the Hughes Brothers' show again, Evee kept saying how Jason is her favorite, referring to him as "the one with gold boy hair".

We came back to the KOA and weathered further thunderstorms for a while before getting to sleep. Tiggy doesn't like the thunder... he gets particularly snuggly. He probably won't do very well tomorrow with the fireworks.

We asked Evee if she was full, and she said that no, she had one little space left in her tummy, and then she pointed to where that space was...
