2008 Spring/Summer Tour - Day 33

We went out for breakfast this morning and met with Ina, a lady who came to a show of mine last week. Her background is in math and science education and she was eager to share some information and suggestions for using my music in the capacity of educational television, which is a subject we're always interested in pursuing. She was very nice and we really appreciate her support. It's always neat to make new friends when we're traveling. We met Ina at a McDonald's, which might not seem to be the ideal place for what was essentially a "business meeting", but we've found that anywhere with a good Playland makes for the best meeting places when we're on the road. We can do our thing while the girls are safely playing nearby.

We came back to the KOA and since it is the KOA Circus Circus, it only seemed right that we head over to Circus Circus itself at least once this trip. We had already been there a couple times last year and also walked down the main Vegas strip for a while and saw the Bellagio water show (the guy who designed that also did the fountain show at The Grove) and the Fremont St. Experience and some other things, so we didn't really feel too compelled to get out much this time to see any of that stuff. Of course, there are a number of shows Roseann and I would love to see, like Spamalot and the Cirque du Soleil Beatles' show, but it's not really feasible to find a babysitter, not to mention those shows ain't cheap, to say the least. But anyway, I ended up taking the girls to Circus Circus while Roseann stayed back to make some phone calls to do some damage control, as we had something we were counting on for later in the trip fall through (not anything gig related, but well, I can't really say too much right now... hopefully it gets worked out). We went to see some of the circus acts at the midway there, and caught a clown act, an acrobat trio and an aerial guy.

Lanyard invited us to come out and see a tech rehearsal he was working on at one of the Vegas libraries for a dance show premiering this weekend. We got there just before their dinner break, so we were only able to catch one of their dance numbers, but it was very impressive and Becca and Evee were definitely mesmerized. I'm sure I'll get a kick out of seeing them attempt some of those moves for their next free form dance party.

We stopped for subs and then came back to go to bed. Tomorrow we'll be heading out to the Phoenix area. We had another great time here in Vegas, and look forward to coming back again soon (which may be this fall).

A random elephant ride. The elephant wasn't very cooperative, though... just stood there.
